Iran’s International Conference
on Quality Management is
one of the most prominent
Iranian events not only within the
country but worldwide, as many
scholars from around the world
look forward to participating in
this biannual event.
In the past the papers elivered
and the workshops conducted
by international personalities
in this Conference have had
very effective applications and
have culminated in important
decisions made and actions
taken by the Iranian authorities.
For example, at the end of
the Second Conference a
Resolution was issued which
led to a decision by the Iranian
Board of Ministers about
modifications in the government
and the administration based
on TQM, which is still bringing
about improvements. Parts of
the Resolution issued at the end
of the Third Conference resulted
in the compilation of a National
Quality Strategy and the National
Quality Award. The Resolution
itself was adopted by the Iranian
President as a programme to be
executed in the ministries and
the related organizations.
The Conference aims at
introducing the latest tools and
techniques of management,
and to improve and enhance
a strategic view of social,
economic and technological
developments in decisionmaking
circles, especially in
the public sector. The Fourth
Conference has suggested
topics that should help meet
the needs of organizations
in attaining sustainable
competitiveness. This shall
be achieved through papers
and workshops, which shall
be presented in the Fourth
Conference on the latest
developments in the science of
management. The Management
and Planning Organization of
Iran, the Institute of Standards
and Industrial Research of Iran,
the Institute of Quality Assurance
of the UK and Iran Group of
Surveyors shall organize the
Conference. It shall be held in
December 2004 in Tehran. In
addition to the papers that will
be delivered and the workshops
and forums that shall be
conducted by first-rate scholars
in the field, there shall also be an
exhibition where organizations
can offer their experiences and
products to other organizations
and to the public.
Unique features of the Fourth
Conference
The Conference is so
designed as to bring about
close communication with
the audience and all those
who are interested in modern
management, and to be flexible
in meeting their needs.
Papers, workshops, forums
and meetings are so planned
that each and every member of
the audience may participate in
sessions that interest him.
To encourage a quality
culture, all applicants – those
whose papers have and have
not been accepted – shall be
appropriately given appreciation.
The Conference plans
to employ new methods in
designing the environment in
which it shall be held such that
maximum use of time can be
made and information can be
relayed with greatest facility. |
