| Fatemeh Mofarrahi was born in
Shiraz in 1965. She spent her
childhood and adolescence in
Shiraz, and was a student in one
of the best schools of that city.
But during all these years she
painted and drew by herself.
When she finished secondary
school at the age of 18, she
entered an art school where she
was very positively influenced
by one of the masters who
taught there, Mr. Atrvash. She
is convinced that it was he who
shaped the foundation of her
later artistic works. She worked
intensively in this school for
four years during which time
she displayed her works in
several exhibitions and contests.
From 1988 till 1990 she was
the winner of the first place in
Shiraz for Graphic Imaging, and
occupied the second place in the
entire country in the same field.
In 1990 she moved to Tehran
where she began to both teach
and continue to study. There she
took part in many exhibitions and
contests, such as the Women’s
First International Exhibition,
Panorama 1990, and the First
Experimental Painting and
Graphics Exhibition. She also
passed several courses in arts,
worked with outstanding artists
of the day, and took a course in
journalistic graphics.
Fatemeh works in all areas
of painting and drawing, with
all tools and in all styles and
techniques.
She is in love with her
hometown, Shiraz, and
the remains of the ancient
Persepolis which is not far
from this lovely city. She visited
Shiraz frequently while she was
in Tehran and all the time longed
to return, which she finally did in
2001 and she intends to remain
in Shiraz all her life.
